Pearl Bespoke Dressmakers – About Us

Pearl Bespoke Dressmakers will hand make your dress from our East London Studio on a Barge. We specialise in wedding dresses and the designs are always elegant and intricate, often with a bohemian or ethereal feel. We have a special interest in vintage inspired dresses and renovations.

We will work with your ideas and preferences right from the initial designs and sketches, meaning that your finished dress will be unique and totally tailored to you. Our vitality and fresh stylistic input means that we can help you with any decisions you are struggling to make and guide you through the process in an effortless way.

Having a dress hand made for you is the best way of having a creative input into your dress. You get to decide exactly the shape, fit, fabric and detailing that you want, with the added bonus of wearing something unique.

Dresses typically take around 3 months to make. We can sometimes fit in more last minute dresses and have even made a dress with a 3 week lead time before! It’s better to book early though as we get very booked up for summer weddings 6-9 months in advance.

What We Do

We specialise in designing and making wedding dresses but can also help with ideas you have in mind for any other occasion.

We try to use sustainably sourced and natural alternatives (to synthetic fabrics) as far as possible considering the design, and love to rework vintage fabrics and laces into new designs.

Wedding Dresses

We specialise in wedding dresses and would be happy to discuss any ideas you may have or to give advice if your ideas aren't yet fully formed

Bridesmaid Dresses

We can also help with your bridesmaid needs. If you want something unusual for your girls or have a mixed bunch of personalities and sizes then we can design to suit both you and them.

Flower Girls

We love making flower girl dresses, so cute.

Mother of the bride/groom

We're happy to help with your outfit for the day, we know how important it is to look stylish and sophiticated.

Costume

Our portfolio has several period/vintage costume pieces as well as some more conceptual, whacky costumes.

Alterations

Once in a while you might find yourself needing something taken in or up, a zip or button replacing or some kind of design alteration. We're happy to help you with this.

Our Process

Because each project is individual and has different requirements the way we work is not set in stone, so just to give you a rough guide of how we work..

  • Initial Meeting

The first step is for us to meet to discuss your ideas and get to know each other

  • Design

We will go though a design process until we have a design you are happy with and find some fabric samples for you to see and feel

  • Toile

A toile (a mock up of your design) will be made to check the design is how you imagined it and for us to check the fit

  • Make

Your design will then be made in the real fabrics

  • Finish

You will come in for a final fitting and you can take your garment away with you
